Although I grew up in the New England Ranges, far from the sea, I have always been drawn to the water. As a child I spent my time beside the river and now that I live on the coast, I am either in, on, or looking at the water. I am fascinated by the elusive nature of water, its translucency and ability to slide through and over obstacles. To me water is a metaphor on life. I love the way that water reflects and responds to the passage of time and tide. Reflections on Time and Tide is a series about the way which water responds and reflects the Sydney sandstone and native bush near our home in pools of colour, which meander and dance on the surface of the water.
